The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) strives to launch effective initiatives in order to accelerate the delivery of new immunotherapies to cancer patients around the world. In an effort led by SITC Past President Bernard Fox, PhD, a collaborative group of international and domestic organizations formed The World Immunotherapy Council (WIC). WIC is a group of 26 organizations and countries that promote the research and translation of cancer immunotherapy to accelerate delivery of new immune-based treatments to patients with cancer throughout the world.
Dr.Joe Yeong from SGH and IMCB, A*STAR (left, standing at the back) represented Singapore SSO-CIC at the WIC Annual Meeting held in Washington to discuss the challenge, vision and success of cancer immunotherapy as well as how to help Asia especially South East Asia to develop this area by building talents, forming international collaboration and translating research outcomes.
